STANFORD, Calif. — The LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw Saturday night in front of more than 43,000 fans at Stanford Stadium in another chapter of the California Clásico rivalry.
With both clubs looking to gain valuable points in the Western Conference standings, the rivalry match delivered intensity from the opening whistle as each side traded scoring chances throughout the evening.
The Galaxy struck first when Joseph Paintsil found the back of the net, giving Los Angeles an early advantage.
